Java Update and Fix (for jre6/jre7 to jre8 versions)

Common Symptoms:

·         Unable to login, no error message

(Figure 1, The application remains on the login page)

·         Software does not show and the following error message comes up:

(Figure 2, Windows is unable to find Java)


One of the reasons why you're unable to login to FlexWare is because:

·         Received a Java update; where you'll have missing files in your updated java directories. (See below)

·         If Windows cannot find Java (see Figure 2), a reinstallation of Java may be required.


On your remote computer in the pharmacy or at your desk, the Java update requires:

·         Administrative rights to access certain directories and functions.

·         The following file(s): FPJni.jar (21 KB) and jcac.jar (~14 KB) *Optionally (~699 bytes)

·         Place these files in the following directory “C:\Program Files\Java\jreX\lib\ext”

(* in “C:\Program Files\Java\jreX\lib”)
Note: 64 bit systems may contain a Java folder in both “C:\Program Files” and “C:\Program Files (x86)”. Check with your system administrator exactly which Java version is being used by the operating system. If unsure, you can always place these two files into both respective “\Java\jreX\lib\ext” directories.
For example: “C:\Program Files(x 86)\Java\jre1.8.0_31\lib\ext”, or “C:\Program Files\Java\jre8\lib\ext”



On your PickPoint Dell computer that connects to the cabinet, the Java update requires:

·         The username/password for the Windows xadministrator account.

·         Administrative rights to access certain directories and functions.

·         The updated Java version. Go to to download, install, and verify software.

·         The following seven Java files. *You may find these files in a different Java directory. If so, transfer the files to their respective directory using the instructions below.

Instructions on updating your Java locally on the PickPoint Dell computer that connects to the cabinet.

1.       Download the required Java files to a USB Flash Drive or burn them to a disk.

2.       Be sure to log in with the Windows xadministrator account.

3.       Insert the USB FLash Drive or disk into the PickPoint Server workstation.

4.       Open the C:\program files\java folder.

5.       Copy the file into the C:\program files\java\jre1.8.0_25\lib directory.

6.       Copy the commons-net-1.1.0.jar, jtds-1.0.3.jar, liquidlnf.jar, jcac.jar and FPJni.jar files into the C:\program files\java\jre1.8.0_25\lib\ext directory.

7.       Restart the PickPoint Dell computer.

8.       After the Dell computer restarts, double-click the PickPoint logo, then login to FlexWare.
