Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Taps PickPoint® for Pharmacy Automation Initiatives

On October 3, 2022, in Freemont, CA, PickPoint®, a leading pharmacy technology company specializing in advanced pharmacy workflow solutions and prescription retrieval systems since 2001, was awarded a 10-year, $450M contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to deliver automated pharmaceutical systems, accessories and support services via the Patient Monitoring and Capital Equipment Program.

As such, PickPoint® is tasked to provide comprehensive solutions—including equipment, training and support services for military and federal pharmacy services. Their proven, light-guided Will Call System and Remote Dispensing System will combine to improve safety, compliance, patient outcomes, and operations while reducing expenses.

The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a five-year base period, followed by one five-year option period. This allows Department of Defense (DoD), Veteran Affairs (VA), and Indian Health Services (I.H.S.), among others, to purchase off an electronic catalog (ECAT) for specific listed items up to $250,000 per transaction, streamlining the entire procurement cycle. PickPoint® competed with suppliers nationwide to win this award. Services began June 24, 2022.
